This case study will show, how the integration platform combined with ADSL module helped Czech telecom, currently Telefónica O2.

• At the time, when Czech telecom started promoting ADSL, it was forced by the regulatory institution (ČTÚ) to offer the service also as wholesale to other operators and hence enable competition. At the same time, the legacy ordering and provisioning system of Internet services (containing ADSL) become inadequate.
• The problems with the old system become intolerable and therefore it was decided to replace it by a new system. Since the market become very competitive, it was essential to act fast.
• The ADSL ordering process is very sophisticated. Despite the fact that Czech telecom as the service provider had all required know-how of the ordering process, it was decided to use the integration platform with the ADSL module. Its role was to integrate the ordering process between newly created system and ADSL provisioning systems.
• The main reasons for choosing ADSL module were: speed of integration, price and technological compatibility
• The ADSL module has been used until today. Later on, there was a need to implement more services, so the module was easily extended to support ordering of IPTV services as well a convergent solution of bundle services (voice, internet, tv).
• Telefónica O2 is currently the far biggest ADSL provider in the Czech republic. It managed to remain on the top position despite fierce competition. ADSL module was a piece of puzzle in this amazing success.
